We are uniquely ourselves and a little bit different from all the rest

Lavans is unusual. Visiting their website or talking to their employees, it’s immediately evident. And that is unique in the laundry sector. Almost 90 years in the business – today with 200 employees. A family business, and you can’t help but notice it. From Toos and Leo Heerkens born 1928 to nephews Michel and Piet Heerkens who now head up this innovative laundry. And it’s also evident from their second place standing in the Global Best Practice competition. The jury was particularly impressed by the Lavans’ policy – sustainable and financially robust – that involves investing generously in times of crisis. And it has borne fruit, because yet again Lavans is outgrowing its premises. Plans for a spacious annex have been made.

To maintain its lead when it comes to innovation and engineering, Lavans has called on WSP Systems. For years, WSP has been the preferred supplier of bag rail systems, and other systems that make the processes in the laundry as efficient and effective as possible. For the new building, too, WSP has been involved from the start, advising on internal logistics, the best systems and the best solutions.

I see WSP as a partner in setting up my company's logistics. They engage in our thinking process, bring expertise and can be highly critical when that's needed. What's more, they make sure they deliver what they promise. Throughout the company, the staff are personally involved in making your project a success Piet Heerkens (director Lavans)
